V-Young: A Banking Experience Built for Youth
Teamwork | Honorable Mention Award
V-Young reimagines the digital banking landscape for first-time account holders, creating a financial platform that resonates with Generation Z's unique needs and communication styles.
This project was completed in 48 hours with my team members, Ezgi Özkürkçü and Lal Şenyüz, for the "Hack to the Future" Hackathon organized by VakıfBank, where it received an honorable mention award.

Design Process
To be able to come up with meaningful solution in our limited time, we chose to implement an efficient and familiar design thinking process.
Approach
To define the problem space, we conducted internal reflection sessions drawing on our personal banking experiences. This approach of self-introspection allowed us to identify common pain points and user needs when traditional research wasn't feasible within our timeline.
“ We have observed that researcher's self-introspection is included in much of our own Human-Centered Design research, in the research of our colleagues and peers, and in the design research of our students. ”
Problem Definition
The core problem we identified is that most existing digital banking platforms are designed for a broad user base and lack features, tone, and usability that resonate with younger users.
Currently, digital banking experiences are not typically tailored to the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the younger generation.
Persona
We developed targeted personas based on collective team experiences to set our understanding of young users' motivations and pain points. These personas served as practical reference points throughout our design process, showcased the key characteristics and financial behaviors of first-time account holders.
Core Values
V-Young reimagines digital banking for university students (18-26) who are first-time account holders and creates a digital banking experience designed specifically for them.
Our solution aims to represent youth financial needs and wishes through a platform built on four core values identified during our problem-definition phase.
Iterative Design Process / Wireframes
We initially transformed our defined values into wireframes to lay the foundation for our design.
We progressed from initial wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes through iterations. After testing our preliminary designs, we refined our approach and enhanced the fidelity and functionality of our solution.
Solution Details
Based on the prior steps, four key improvement points have been determined to enhance the digital banking experience for university students.
For the user interface, bright colors with high contrast were selected for the visuals and user interface to convey a sense of dynamism.

Landing Page
The landing page communicates our core values while visually resonating with the digital aesthetic preferences, establishing the platform's relevance to young adults' financial journey.
